REVCO QUAD A & BB VOLLEYBALL RULES:

First 3 games are played to 25 (cap 27). 4th&5th game is to 21 (cap 23) and will be shortened to ensure they end on time and following matches can start on time.
  • One time-out per game is allowed.
  • FOR QUAD A LEVEL: Only 1 male can attack behind the 10ft line/set. That male hitter CAN NOT be the teams ‘primary’ hitter throughout a set and that same male is the only one allowed to jump serve in a set.
  • FOR QUAD BB LEVEL: Only 1 male can attack behind the 10ft line/set. That male hitter CAN NOT be the teams ‘primary’ hitter throughout a set. NO male may jump serve.
  • Any combination of players may play the ball over the net.
  • Male players cannot follow through under the net from an attack line approach.
  • Male players inside the attack line must put a distinct arch on the ball if they play it over the net.
  • Male players may not block.
  • A defensive block does not count as one of the allowable contacts.
  • Directional Blocks are allowed.
  • The serve may not be blocked or spiked. Serves hitting the net will be legal.
  • Open hand received is allowed while in serve receive & first contact
  • A player may touch but not completely cross over the centerline with his/her foot.
  • Oversets are not allowed even if squared up
  • Sets and Double Calls – We allow an official judgment call on spins if the setter is making an “athletic attempt” at the ball.
  • No open hand tips allowed.
  • USA VOLLEYBALL Rules apply unless stated otherwise.
  • Official ball is the Molten Flistatec or Pro Touch (Unless both captains otherwise agree)
  • Warm Up Period – Teams are allowed 3 – 5 minutes of warm up between games dependent on time. This excludes the first game of the night.

Please help by calling your own “nets”, “lifts/carries”, and questionable calls – it’s good sportsmanship. If a call is being disputed, it’s an automatic ‘replay’.

REFEREES:

ALL GAMES WILL BE SELF-REFFED. THERE WILL BE NO OBLIGATION ON THE PART OF ANY PARTICIPANTS TO SEND REFEREES EARLY OR LEAVE REFEREES AFTER A MATCH. Captains are responsible for recording the results of their game in the TeamLinkt app/website before leaving the gym.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY:

These leagues are set for specific levels based on the night and structure of the league: B/BB,  BB and A/AA as determined by BEER. If a player is deemed to be significantly higher than the level in which they are playing, if there may be a warranted health & safety risk to other players, that player will be asked to remain ‘grounded’- grounded meaning the player will not be allowed to attack the ball above the plane of the net.  League divisions are designed to create competitive and fair play amongst different talent levels. Using players from higher skill divisions goes against this principle and the purpose of our league. Captains are responsible for making sure their team only has players at the skill level they are registered for and not having players from our higher skilled leagues play on their lower division teams.  Players who are listed on another roster in a higher division will be handled on a case by case basis. Generally, they may not play in any lower leagues.

Substitutions: Substitution players are allowed in order to ensure teams are playing the amount of games originally built into the schedule. Keep subs at the same level as the player that is listed on the roster that is not in attendance for a given match.

Playoff Eligibility: A player must have subbed in at least 3 matches with the same team in order to be eligible to participate in playoffs for that given team. We ask that team captains help to regulate these counts and keep things balanced throughout the league.

SPORTSMANSHIP:

The idea of this league is to have fun, I mean…we’re called BEER League! We hope that all participants keep that in mind when becoming involved. Although the games may become intense, you still can be competitive while maintaining good sportsmanship. With this said, any behavior deemed unacceptable by staff may result in suspension and/or ejection from the league.

FORFEITS:

If for any reason your team may have to forfeit, please contact management to see if we can assist in finding subs within the same league to make the match still take place. Communication is key, please keep us in the loop if your team playing in a match is a concern. A team that forfeits will be charged the ref fees for the match forfeited.

PLAYOFFS:

Our goal is to always allow all teams to make the playoffs! Each league will be broken into a Gold and Silver bracket for playoffs which schedules will be released once regular season play has started. Depending on the league night, playoffs should run for 2-3 weeks.
