Mission Statement

"The Barnstormers league exists to help ensure that all kids who don’t make their town’s summer All-Star/tournament teams have a place to continue to play summer baseball. It is meant to be a fun, competitive, balanced league that encourages player development."

History

The Barnstormers league was founded in 2007.  While most towns submit all-star summer teams at each age level, the majority of players who don't make those teams were historically left without an option to continue their spring baseball experience into the summer.  Today, the league consists of over 15 towns in the South Coast region of Massachussetts that play each other from the end of June to the end of July, culminating in a Saturday of championship play and other activities.  While the Barnstormers doesn't register individual players, we try to be as accomodating as possible if a town has only a handful of players without a team.  We will try our best to connect them with other towns in similiar situations to ensure everyone has a place to play.  We are also a very collaborative program; working very closely with our various town coordinators on ways to improve the league each year.  We are always welcome to new towns joining, so if you're interested, please drop us a line!

Organization

The Barnstormer’s league is guided by the Barnstormers Operating Committee (BOC) in association with Norfolk Baseball. We encourage a representative rom each town submitting a team to participate in reviewing rules and structure changes as the season starts, to help with disciplinary actions during the seasons (if needed) as well as participation in post-season after-action reviews to endure we’re documenting lessons learned and keeping the league as relevant as possible. The 2022 Barnstormers Operating Committee consists of:

Chris Curry of Norfolk
Bill Panasuik of Foxboro
Rich Letson of Foxboro
