Coach Dejon Hush

Bishop Blanchet HS Varsity Head Coach

Dejon Hush is originally from New Jersey, a transplant via Michigan. In 1998 he helped form and found the Franklin HS, Seattle program. In 2000 he joined the Mercer Island coaching staff, and in 2001 they won their first state championship. In 2003 Dejon went to Bainbridge Island and won the state championships in 2003 and 2007. In 2011 he took over at Lake Washington/ Kirkland lacrosse as the Program Director. In 2015 Lake Washington and Coach Hush won a Div. 2 State championship.

Dejon has earned several honors including named “Assistant Coach of the Year” by the HS league in 2003, 2005, 2006. In 2003 Dejon was named the Head Coach of the University of Washington. He earned Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League Coach of the Year honors in 2005. In 2012 he was nominated to coach the “US Lacrosse All American Game” in Florida. He was inducted into the Washington Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017.

Coach Pete Crowley

Woodinville HS Varsity Head Coach

Pete Crowley is a Rochester, NY native and grew up playing lacrosse in the CNY Region. Coach Crowley coached youth lacrosse and wrestling in Victor, New York before moving to the PNW in 2005. He first became involved in the local lacrosse community while playing mens league and helping with various youth programs. He was the Varsity Head Coach at Everett in 2010, before moving to the Woodinville high school staff. Coach Crowley has spent the last nine years in Woodinville and the last four as Varsity Head Coach and Program Director. As a defensive minded coach, he loves to focus on the fundamentals of footwork and positioning to create elite defenseman.

Coach Drew Wright

Roosevelt HS Varsity Head Coach

Drew Wright has been a head coach at the Varsity level since 2015. His first three seasons were at Nathan Hale HS, and the past 3 with Roosevelt HS. Prior to coaching at the HS level, he coached youth lacrosse for the North Seattle Blackfish. Coach Drew is from Suffern NY, where he was an all-league and all-section goalie in his senior season, and went on to play club lacrosse at North Carolina State University. Other dubious distinctions include: Club Player for 20 years, 7 years as the Mens Club President and currently the Metro League Representative on the WHSBLA board. This will be his 3rd season with Team Washington. His Motto is “Better Every Day”!!

Coach JD Chapman

Woodinville HS Varsity Asst Coach

JD is a Washington native. He played locally and was a part of two Division 2 State Championship teams (Northshore ‘08 & Woodinville ‘11) After High School he went on to play 3 years at the University of Montana. During his summer breaks in college he would coach tournament teams for Woodinville ranging from 3rd/4th grade to 7th/8th grade. After graduating in '16 he joined the Woodinville High School coaching staff as the JV head coach for 1 year and is currently the Offensive Coordinator for the Falcons. He has coached the past two summers with team WA and enjoys seeing the development of Washington lacrosse and excited to see it continue to grow.

Coach Rob Eidson

Redmond HS Varsity Head Coach

Rob Eidson is an Assistant Varsity Coach with Bellevue High School. For the past four years he was the Head High School Varsity Coach for Redmond High School, and Program Director for the Redmond club, before stepping down to spend more time with his family. 

Coach Rob has coached with Team Washington for the past 6 years, having coached the rising 4th/5th, 8th and 9th grade teams. Prior to leading the Redmond program, Coach Rob was the Head Junior Varsity Coach for Bellevue High School and Youth Director for the Bellevue Program. He also lives in the Juanita area and has coached his sons, and their K2, for several seasons.

Prior to moving to Washington, Coach Rob began his coaching career as the Head Varsity Coach for James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Coach Rob attended the University of Mary Washington in Virginia and was a two time selection of the NCLL All-Star Team. Coach Rob grew up in the Philadelphia area and played Varsity lacrosse for the West Chester East Senior High Vikings.

​Coach Rob also works at Microsoft, supported by his amazing wife Erin, and in his free time loves spending time with and coaching his three boys: Hunter (2031), Colin (2032) and John Cameron (2034).

Coach Brian Johnson

Tahoma HS Varsity Head Coach

Coach Johnson has coached at the high school varsity level since 2007 at Tahoma High School and Skyline High School. He was named Washington Head Coach of the year in 2015 and a 4A State Champion coach in 2017 for the Skyline Spartans. He has led units on both the defensive and offensive side of the ball throughout his career. He has coached numerous All- Americans and prepared NCAA bound athletes each season at the High school level.

Coach Johnson has coached for Team Washington since 2015. He was a two time All-American midfielder at Sonoma State University from 2003-2006 and is a member of SSUʼs Athletic Hall of Fame.

Coach Ryan O'Connor

Lake Washington HS Varsity Asst Coach

Coach O'Connor was born and raised on Long Island, NY. He played at Chaminade HS, Dartmouth College (Div. I), and briefly with the Chicago Machine (MLL). He has coached various high school varsity lacrosse teams both in Long Island and Washington, winning championships in both places, most recently the WA State championship in 2015 with Lake Washington HS. He also coached at Dowling College (Div. II) where they made the NCAA Final 4 in 2010 and his defense went on to win a Div. II National Championship in 2012. He has been coaching with Team WA for 5 years and loves blending players and styles from the top programs in the state to create complete players.

College accolades: (Dartmouth College - Hanover, NH)

  • Team defensive MVP x2
  • Team Captain as a senior

  • Coached several future D1, 2, & 3 players (Dartmouth, Colgate, Air Force, Maryland, St. John’s, Dowling, Tampa, & many more)
  • At Dowling: Trained and coached a future NLL, MLL, & Canadian National Team (indoor) player. He was a collegiate All-American, the #2 draft pick in the NLL, defensive player of the year several times, & is one of the most accomplished and decorated defensemen in the NLL.

Coach Blake Whicker

Bellevue 78 Coach & Youth Director

Blake Whicker, Bellevue Varsity Defensive Coordinator, was a 4-year letterman at Hendrix College. As a freshman, Blake was part of the inaugural class that founded Hendrix's program - the first NCAA sanctioned team in the state of Arkansas. Blake served as the Head Coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks MCLA lacrosse program until moving to Washington and joining the Bellevue Lacrosse family as a defensive specialist in 2013. Blake enjoys talking about the merits of aggressive zone schemes and sound defensive footwork.

Coach Nick Yapp

Issaquah 78 Coach

Nick is a Washington native who grew up playing for the old Eastside Lacrosse Club through elementary and middle school, until the Issaquah Youth Lacrosse program was founded in 2004. A four year varsity letterman, he was part of three WHSBLA State Championships, winning the 2008 title his senior year. A staple at both attack and goalie, Nick is the only player in WHSBLA history to record double digits in goals, assists, ground balls and saves.

Additionally, Nick is the only player in WHSBLA history with 60+ goals and 60+ saves in a career;  40+ points and 40+ saves in a season; four games with 3+ goals and four games with 6+ saves. He was also a member of the 2008 Team WA team that finished third at Champ Camp.

After high school, Nick spent one year at Catonsville C.C. in Baltimore where he finished second on the team in points with 40. In 2010, he began coaching for the Issaquah Lacrosse Club where he still coaches today, winning two GELL Championships in 2012 and 2019 respectively.

Since 2012, Nick has captained the local Seattle Lacrosse Club, Seattle's longest running post collegiate lacrosse team, having roots dating back to as early as the late 1800s. Under Nick's leadership, the SLC has made three straight PNLA final appearances between 2017-2019, winning the championship in 2018. In a variety of different coaching roles, Nick has been helping Team Washington since 2017.
