Coaches Code of Conduct

The Henry County Parks and Recreation Department has established the following Code of Conduct for our volunteer coaches to promote the principles of sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect among players, coaches, referees, and spectators.

This Code of Conduct shall govern the actions and responsibilities of coaches, assistant coaches and team parent(s) while coaching during any HCPRD activity. It is intended to provide behavioral guidance and establish clear expectations for all involved

Furthermore, our Code of Conduct shall serve as the Henry County Parks and Recreation Department’s standard for coaches’ behavioral evaluations. Any person in violation of the HCPRD Code of Conduct shall be subject to administrative action,

up to and including termination of his/her privilege to participate, coach or attend any or all HCPRD sponsored activities.

Coaches and Assistant Coaches shall support Henry County’s commitment to the ideals of good sportsmanship, team play, honesty, loyalty, and respect for authority all while accepting responsibility for the conduct of our players and their parents.

Likewise, coaches shall remain sensitive placing the physical and emotional well-being of the players on his/her team over the desire to win.

In order to adhere to these rules and regulations, the coaches and assistant coaches agree as follows:

Coaches will be positive role models providing a positive and fun experience for ALL. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will treat everyone fairly within the context of the activity regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, economic status or playing ability. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will display and instill in their players the principals of good sportsmanship and team play. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will conduct themselves in a manner that best serves the interests of the players. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will treat all players, parents, spectators, opposing coaches, league officials and referees with respect as well as encourage players, parents, and spectators to do the same. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Any Physical contact in an aggressive or harassing manner; Profanity, Verbal abuse, Obscene gestures will not be tolerated. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will provide instruction in a manner that is constructive and supportive. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Under NO Circumstances will a coach yell or storm the field of play at a referee. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will not tolerate nor engage in behavior that endangers the health or well-being of a child or participant. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will be knowledgeable and comply with the decisions of league officials and observe ALL rules, policies and procedure as established or endorsed by the HCPRD. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will be drug and alcohol free while at any HCPRD sponsored event. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will not use any tobacco products while in our parks. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

Coaches will hold preseason meetings to explain and discuss the team’s expectations. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

All coaches agree to attend any skill sessions certifications or First Aid courses that may be required/mandated by the HCPRD. *

I commit to upholding this standard.

I have read, understand, and agree to the above stated Code of Conduct of the Henry County Parks and Recreation Department. *

Hey there, sports enthusiasts! Are you passionate about coaching and mentoring young athletes? Henry County Parks and Recreation is on the lookout for dedicated coaches and volunteers to help with our upcoming athletic programs. Whether you have experience in coaching or simply want to make a positive impact in the community, we would love to have you on our team!

From Adult Sofball to youth basketball to girls  flag football, we offer a variety of sports programs for children  and adults of all ages. By volunteering your time and expertise, you can help shape the next generation of athletes and instill a love for sports in our community. Whether you can commit to one season or multiple, every bit of help makes a difference in the lives of our young athletes.
