u15aa saah TRYOUT process

Below is an outline explaining the process your player will be going through in the SAAH U15 AA evaluations:
  • All non-returning skaters will have 3 scrimmage games (8 teams) without the players that played U15 SAAH the previous year.
  • The top 90 players from that group to play with returning players on Friday.  Returning skaters automatically advance to the final round of tryouts.  There will be 6 teams at this stage and each team will play 3 more games.
  • All the sessions are evaluated by independent evaluators who provide a score for each player based upon skating, puck control, work ethic, checking, shooting, passing and hockey sense.
    • In addition, the 4 coaches with assistants will be in attendance for most of the sessions and feedback will be received from them each night.
  • Independent evaluators will provide evaluation scores.  We will have 12 scores on each player for both the rookie camp and the main camp. which will provide a very good overall evaluation for each player.
  • All player sessions in the Main Camp will be 90 minutes long and everyone will have one session per day.
    • Each period will be 25 minutes long, with five minutes to warm up goalie each period.
      • Gameplaye will simulate a real game.  (change on the fly, faceoffs, etc.)
      • Line combinations are to change each game
    • Referees will run each game.
    • Penalties will be called. Suspendable acts will be served druing the regular season.
