Crusty6s VOLLEYBALL RULES:

·        Each match will consist of two games.

·        Two time-outs per game is allowed.

·        A defensive block does not count as one of the allowable contacts.

·        The serve may not be blocked or spiked. Serves hitting the net will be legal.

·        Open hand received is allowed while in serve receive & first contact.

·        A player may touch but not completely cross over the centerline with his/her foot.

·        USA VOLLEYBALL Rules apply unless stated otherwise.

·        Official ball is the Molten Flistatec or Pro Touch (Unless both captains otherwise agree)

REFEREES:

All games will be refereed by an assigned team.  Captains are responsible for ensuring that a first referee and two linesmen are provided for matches when assigned as refs.  Keep it chill – no team is being reviewed for Olympic competition here (including the folks who are reffing).  Refs, please be consistent with calls and remember that spin doesn’t constitute a double – call it if you see it.  Arguing calls with the ref may result in a point deduction for your team. Tournament Director will monitor all courts during the playoffs and will be available for any and all questions, concerns, or discrepancies that may arise. Honor calls are accepted and appreciated.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY:

This league is set for the BB level of play determined by BEER. If a player is deemed to be significantly higher than the BB level to which there may be a warranted health & safety risk to other players, that player will be asked to remain ‘grounded’- grounded meaning the player will not be allowed to attack the ball above the plane of the net.

SPORTSMANSHIP:

The idea of this Tourney is to have fun. We hope that all participants keep that in mind when becoming involved. Although the games may become intense, you still can be competitive while maintaining good sportsmanship. With this said, any behavior deemed unacceptable by staff may result in suspension and/or ejection.

FORFEITS:

If a team loses a player through injury or other reason we’ll work through a solution to grab a similarly gifted player from the Ref team to ensure that play can continue without a forfeit.  The same player may not sub in for two games, a second ref team player will be selected for any other game.

PLAYOFFS:

Playoffs will be created in a way that best fits the time remaining in the Tourney day.  If first rounds have moved along efficiently enough we should have time for a Semi and Final.
